McKay houses both a Fitchburg public school (McKay Arts Academy) and a laboratory school for Fitchburg State students interested in teaching. It continues the university’s century-long tradition of student teaching in a modern facility.

The Behavioral Sciences, Business Administration, Education, English Studies, and Psychological Science department offices are located in McKay and graduate and undergraduate courses are offered in the “C” wing of this building.

The McKay Auditorium is used for university theater productions and the McKay Café, featuring a variety of food and drink options from Chartwell’s food services, is located here.
