Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony, May 18 2024
Fitchburg State University held its 128th Commencement Exercises, Undergraduate Spring Ceremony on Saturday, May 18, 2024. The commencement address was given by alumna Yla Eason of the Class of 1971, a professor at Rutgers University who started the country's first multiracial toy company. The President's Medal was awarded to Resource Management Inc. founder Reinaldo Lopez, whose firm is one of the largest Hispanic-owned companies in the country. The valedictory address was given by Jyy Rose Liang. The ceremony marked the final graduation for President Richard S. Lapidus, who is retiring in June after nine years leading the institution.
